and shedding dead skin cells along the way…
I’ve really been leaning into the Year of the Snake paradigm this past few weeks
Frankly, I hadn’t considered it or thought about it until I started to see posts about the transition from Year of the Snake into Year of the Fire Horse starting February 17th.
Then it dawned on me.
Year of the Snake represents a shedding of what no longer serves us. Removing beliefs, personas, jobs etc. that aren’t working for us anymore.
And at the end of January 2025, I started doing exactly that.
- Giving notice to end my corporate career, and officially finishing this part of my life on April 30th.
- Shedding the “corporate Sarah” persona I’ve held for YEARS, which is still a work in progress, but I’m getting there.
- Leaving behind the masculine energy that has dominated my working life, and embracing a softer, more feminine side.
All of this has been a journey, and definitely a transition into something new, albeit, I’m not entirely sure what it will be YET.
It’s not easy to shift something that has been an innate part of yourself for so long.
It requires inner work (which is way easier said than done if I’m honest).
Time spent outside of being in my head in favour of tapping into what’s in my heart.
My heart knows what I need.
However, my head can get in the way, throwing tired old beliefs at me that are ready for the trash bin.
But, if a shift is to happen, those beliefs need to be examined and questioned.
They came from somewhere, outside of myself – from old experiences and words directed at me that I ingested over the years that were not a true reflection of who I really am.
There is still more to shed (I have until Feb 16th to get’er done!) and so I shall continue to do so.
The who I really am at the core of my being is someone I really love. Someone who has been buried for a long time, and is finally digging her way out.
- A softer me.
- A truer me.
- A me I’m super happy and proud to be.
We can all do this for ourselves.
But you need to WANT it.
You too can stop giving away the best part of yourself to others who demand your time and prioritization.
Your dreams, your goals – what you want for yourself CAN be achieved.
As a coach, I help my clients who are tired of letting themselves down, and are fed up with never being able to prioritize their dreams and goals, learn how to set boundaries, free up the time required to work on what matters to them, develop a confidence in themselves, and never worry about putting themselves last ever again.
- Maybe you’re tired of putting yourself last, letting yourself down and feeling resentful and frustrated because of it.
- Maybe you need to learn how to hold yourself accountable to yourself.
- Maybe you want the confidence to prioritize your needs over what others want from you.
- Maybe you don’t set pursue your dreams or set goals because you don’t think you will actually achieve them.
Maybe 2026 is the year that you go after what you want with a supportive coach beside you to help you stay the course.
Food for thought.
